Privacy Policy
How we handle information when you use CareHomesWA.com.
Effective September 20, 2026
1. Who we are
CareHomesWA.com is operated by Elavise LLC, doing business as Care Homes Washington (“CareHomesWA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We help families find adult family homes in Washington and allow facility representatives to request and manage listings.
For privacy questions or requests, email hello@carehomeswa.com. Our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains our handling of care-related information. A facility or external website you contact has its own privacy practices.
2. Information we collect
- Accounts and listing requests: name, email, telephone number, business contact information, role, facility affiliation, and notes you submit. We maintain account identifiers, verification records, sign-in times, and claim or submission history. Passwords are stored as salted hashes, not readable passwords.
- Directory information: public facility records and information supplied by administrators and authorized representatives, including facility names, licenses, addresses, map coordinates, contact details, services, payment options, estimated costs, capacity, vacancies, descriptions, and photos.
- Family inquiries: name, email, phone, care category, preferred location, budget range, payment preference, move-in timeline, consent timestamp, submission date, and handling status.
- Messages and previous submissions: information you send when contacting us. Earlier submissions to the retired review feature may remain in internal records, although reviews are no longer publicly displayed through that feature.
- Location and technical information: location-search text, optional device coordinates, and information received by the website and its service providers when processing requests, such as IP address, browser information, requested pages, and request times.
Care categories may reveal sensitive needs, including dementia or memory care, behavioral or mental health, developmental disabilities, or daily-living assistance. Provide only what is necessary. Do not send medical records, Social Security numbers, insurance identification numbers, or payment credentials through care forms or email. Submit information about another person only when authorized to do so.
3. How we use information
We use information to operate the directory and location search; manage and secure accounts; verify emails; assess listing claims and submissions; publish authorized listing updates and photos; respond to care requests and messages; maintain records; troubleshoot problems; prevent misuse; and address privacy requests and applicable legal obligations.
Family inquiries stay with CareHomesWA. We use them internally to respond to the family. We do not publish them or send families’ names, emails, phone numbers, or care needs to facility owners through automatic distribution or manual referrals. Sponsored listings do not provide access to family inquiries. Families decide whether to contact a facility themselves.
4. Public information and service providers
Facility listings and uploaded listing photos are public and may be copied or indexed by search engines. We store uploaded files and associated information such as filenames, file types, sizes, upload dates, and uploader information. Only upload photos and information you have permission to publish. Remove unnecessary personal details and embedded location metadata before uploading.
Authorized administrators and providers of hosting, database, storage, and email services process information needed to operate the site. Keeping family inquiries internal does not mean that no service provider processes them. Mapping services receive information as described below.
When you call a facility, visit its website, or request external directions, that facility or service receives the information you provide there. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law or valid legal process, subject to protections for sensitive information.
5. Cookies, location, and maps
A first-party sign-in cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Signing out clears the active cookie; blocking it can prevent account features from working. Location searches cache query text and results in browser session storage to reduce repeat lookups. Browser site-data controls can remove this information; session restoration may affect its lifetime.
Location lookup uses an address-search service, currently OpenStreetMap/Nominatim, to translate your entered location into coordinates. It receives the search text and browser connection information. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.
Google Maps displays facilities and the selected search area. Google receives browser requests and technical information such as your IP address; map interactions can convey the area being viewed. If you choose device-location search and grant browser permission, those coordinates are used to calculate distances and passed to the map functionality. Google may use cookies or similar technologies under its Privacy Policy.
You can enter a city or ZIP code instead of your exact address, decline device-location access, or revoke that permission in your browser. This does not stop ordinary map or server requests. The application does not currently include a dedicated advertising-pixel or audience-analytics integration; third-party services and hosting may still process technical information.
6. Payments — Stripe is planned
Stripe is not connected, and online subscription checkout is not enabled as of this policy’s effective date. The current site does not ask for payment-card details. This policy does not authorize a subscription or charge.
We plan to use Stripe for facility subscription payments. Before enabling payments, we will update this section to describe the actual information exchanged. Hosted Stripe checkout would send payment details to Stripe, with billing identifiers and payment or subscription status returned to CareHomesWA according to the integration. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy. Do not email us card numbers or bank-login details.
7. Retention and privacy requests
The service retains account, listing, claim, photo, and inquiry records to support their functions. Closing or archiving an inquiry is not deletion. Deleting a provider account does not automatically remove public facility information, photos, or separate family inquiries. A limited account-security record remains to prevent old sign-in sessions becoming valid again. Copies may also remain in email or backup systems.
To request access, correction, or deletion, contact hello@carehomeswa.com and identify the account, inquiry, listing, photo, or previous submission involved. We may need information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or authority. Do not send sensitive identity documents unless we explain why they are needed and how to provide them.
Public facility records and private personal information may be treated differently. Applicable privacy rights, including rights concerning consumer health data and backup deletion, are not limited by these descriptions. See our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy for health-data requests and appeals.
8. Security and your choices
The application uses safeguards including password hashing and access checks for protected functions. No website, email service, or storage system can guarantee complete security. Do not share passwords or verification codes.
You can browse public listings without an account, choose not to submit a care request, control browser location permission, and contact us about information you provided. Approved facility representatives can edit authorized listing fields in the facility portal.
9. Children
This directory is intended for adults researching or providing adult-family-home care, not children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so it can be reviewed and handled appropriately.
10. Changes and contact
We will post changes here and update the effective date. Where required, changes in how information is used or disclosed will receive additional notice or consent. A policy update alone is not consent to a new use of sensitive information.
